What’s next?

🎮 Kokoro Dama 3D is live on Google Play!
An indie 3D checkers project built to learn Unity 6, powered by adaptive AI.
I'm excited to share my new game Kokoro Dama 3D, now available on Google Play. This is a solo Indie project I created to learn and push Unity 6 and it's only the beginning.
👉 Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alessandroalfieri.kokorodama3D
What you can play today (offline)
Single vs Adaptive AI – a lightweight AI that adjusts its behavior as you play.
Local PvP – pass‑and‑play on the same device.
Online multiplayer, an in‑game store, and more features are planned next.
Key features
Tactile 3D board with smooth movement and clean UI.
Adaptive AI that tries new tactics over time.
Stats on device to track your matches.
No internet required for current modes.
How the Adaptive AI works (in short)
Kokoro Dama 3D uses a reinforcement‑inspired approach:
It scores actions (e.g., captures, promotions) to prefer stronger moves.
Uses an ε‑greedy exploration chance so it doesn't always repeat the same patterns.
Saves experience locally, so matches can feel different over time.
It's intentionally lightweight and offline perfect for quick, casual games and for me to learn and iterate.
Built with Unity 6
Unity 6 (C#) for core gameplay and systems.
URP for clear visuals and overlays.
TextMeshPro UI for crisp menus and HUD.
Local persistence for stats and AI data.
This project started as a way to learn Unity 6 and sharpen my game‑dev workflow from scene setup and input handling to board logic and state management.

Hobbies

Travel
Traveling is one of my greatest passions, a way to explore the world, immerse myself in different cultures and discover new ways of seeing life. During my honeymoon, I had the privilege of visiting Japan with my wife, an unforgettable experience between tradition and modernity. We explored the bright lights and lively energy of Akihabara, the district of technology and pop culture enthusiasts, and we got lost among the silent temples of Kyoto, where time seems to stand still. Nara welcomed us with its gentle deer and temples immersed in nature, while Osaka surprised us with its vibrant nightlife and delicious local cuisine. After Japan, we relaxed on the heavenly beaches of Phuket, completing our trip with days of sun and sea, enjoying the pristine beauty of Thailand. Every moment was special, a true mix of adventure and tranquility, shared with the most important person in my life
.
Video games
Video games have always been a great passion of mine, a fantastic journey that began in arcades and arcade machines, where I would lose myself for hours in the first digital worlds. From there, the passion grew and evolved, thanks to unforgettable titles such as *Final Fantasy*, which made me dream with its epic stories and magic; *Metal Gear*, which taught me the importance of strategy and complex narration; *Mass Effect*, with its vast universe full of meaningful choices; and *The Last of Us*, which moved me with an intense and profound story. Each game was a unique chapter in my journey, between adventure, strategy and emotions, which continues to this day.

TV Series and Movies
As for TV series, I watch a bit of everything, but my preferences lean towards fantasy, sci-fi, and action genres. Currently, at the top of my favorite series, you'll still find:
Band of Brothers: The true story of Easy Company, an elite American paratrooper unit, which performed acts of extraordinary valor on the hottest fronts of World War II, from D-Day to the capture of Hitler's "Eagle's Nest."
The Sopranos: An timeless classic that redefined the drama genre.
In general, I deeply appreciate the standard of HBO series, although lately, Korean series are gaining a special place in my heart, with titles like Squid Game and Kingdom.
Moving on to films, battling for the top spot are The Lord of the Rings original trilogy, Harry Potter, and the first Transformers movies. Three sagas that have left an indelible mark for different reasons, from epic grandeur to boundless imagination.

Draw
Since I was a child, I was captivated by the magic of the first anime I watched on TV, especially Dragon Ball. I remember the excitement of picking up a pencil and drawing Goku and his friends everywhere: on school notebooks, on loose sheets of paper, and yes, even on the walls of my house (much to my parents' disappointment!). It was a way to bring those fantastic worlds into my daily reality and give life to the stories that inspired me.
